APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION FOR DRIVER EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT FUNDS TO PROVIDE DRIVER EDUCATION TRAINING DURING SUMMER 2008
Description
Pursuant to Section 318.1215, Florida Statutes and Section 122-35 of the Sarasota County Code, a $3.00 surcharge has been added to each civil traffic penalty in Sarasota County to enhance the funding of driver education programs in public and nonpublic schools located in Sarasota County. The funds requested will provide driver education instruction for approximately 280 Sarasota County high school students during Summer, 2008. Training will be provided by five high schools and/or AULT's driving school instructors.
Recommendation
That the application for driver education training during Summer 2008, to provide driver education instruction for approximately 280 Sarasota County high school students be approved.
